銀の特殊塗料をはじめとする工業用の特殊塗料を74層にわたって重ね、削りと研磨を幾度も繰り返して仕上げた作品です。その中でも、銀の塗料だけで15層の塗膜を形成しています。銀を幾重にも重ねることで生まれる乱線は光を捉えるたびに表情を変え、平面的な描写では得られない立体感を生み出します。一つひとつの層と削りの跡には、制作に費やされた時間そのものが刻まれています。さらに銀の上から透明感のある色味を吹き重ねることで、表面の色と、その奥に潜む金属の光が交差し、見る角度や光の強さによって異なる表情を見せます。色を塗り重ねるというより、光を積層する。74層に及ぶ工程の奥行きから、龍の姿が少しずつ浮かび上がってきます。

塗装から削り、研磨まで、一つひとつの工程を手作業で仕上げるため、同じ表情を持つ作品は二つとありません。空間に置けば、光の入り方や時間帯によって、その姿は少しずつ変わっていきます。一点しか存在しない景色を、自分の空間に迎える。74層に重ねられた時間と、そこから生まれる光の表情を、日々の中で楽しんでいただきたい作品です。

This work was created by building up 74 layers of industrial-grade specialized paint, including silver-based paint, and repeatedly scraping and polishing the surface by hand. Among these layers, 15 are formed entirely from silver paint. As the silver is layered one over another, the lines created through the scraping process catch the light and take on a dimensional presence. Each layer, and every trace left through the process, records the time invested in creating the work.

Transparent tones are then sprayed over the silver, allowing the surface color and the metallic light beneath it to intersect. Depending on the angle of view and intensity of light, the work reveals a different expression. Rather than simply adding layer upon layer of color, the process is closer to building up light itself. From the depth created through 74 layers, the form of the dragon gradually emerges.

Every stage, from painting to scraping and polishing, is completed by hand, ensuring that no two works can ever share exactly the same appearance. Once placed in a space, the dragon continues to change subtly with the movement of light and the passing hours of the day. To bring a landscape that exists only once into your own space is to live with the time embedded in the work, and to discover its changing relationship with light over the years.
