時計を収めるという機能から、一歩離れて眺めてみる。深みのある色彩と控えめな艶を纏ったこのWATCH CASEは、華やかさを主張するのではなく、置かれた空間に自然と馴染みながら、確かな存在感を残します。3本の時計を収めるためのケースでありながら、それ自体がひとつのオブジェとして完成された存在です。

外装を手掛けるのは、UNDULATIONのアーティスト、クワイ華。キャンバス作品で培ってきた特殊塗装の技法を用い、色を幾重にも重ね、乾燥、削り、磨きを繰り返すことで、単一の色では表現できない奥行きを生み出しています。落ち着いたトーンの中にわずかな色の揺らぎと艶が現れ、光の当たり方によってその表情が変化する。近くで見るほど、重ねられた色と磨きによって生まれた質感の豊かさが際立ちます。

内装には、ハンドメイドデザイナー・葛野慎吾が仕立てるクロコダイルを採用。特徴的なグレインと立体的な質感を活かしながら、一つひとつ丁寧に仕上げています。外装の落ち着いた色調と、クロコダイルが持つ豊かな表情。その異なる質感が重なることで、時計を収める所作まで美しく見せる仕立てに仕上がっています。

Step beyond its function as a place to store watches, and simply take a moment to appreciate it. Defined by deep tones and a restrained lustre, this WATCH CASE does not seek attention through extravagance. Instead, it settles naturally into its surroundings, leaving behind a distinctive presence. Designed to house three timepieces, it is also a complete object in its own right.

The exterior is created by UNDULATION artist Kuwai Hana, using the specialized painting techniques developed through his canvas works. Multiple layers of color are applied, dried, scraped, and polished repeatedly, creating a depth that cannot be achieved through a single, uniform tone. Subtle shifts in color and restrained gloss emerge within its muted palette, revealing a different expression as the light moves across the surface. The closer you look, the more apparent the richness of its layered colors and meticulously polished texture becomes.

The interior is crafted by handmade designer Shingo Kuzuno using carefully selected crocodile leather. Its distinctive grain and sculptural texture are preserved through meticulous craftsmanship, creating a refined interior with a character of its own. The understated tones of the exterior meet the rich texture of the crocodile leather, bringing together two contrasting surfaces and making even the simple act of placing a watch inside feel considered.

Rather than demanding attention at first glance, it is the kind of object that grows more compelling with time. Choosing a watch, lifting it, placing it inside.
