黒の艶やかな表面をベースに、一面にわたって削りを施した5本用WATCH CASE。削ることで、その下に重ねられた赤、白、紫の色彩がところどころに現れ、深い黒の中に鮮やかな色が浮かび上がります。どこに、どの色が現れるかは、削る工程によって一つひとつ異なるもの。光の当たり方や見る角度によっても色彩の見え方が変化し、同じ配色でありながら、それぞれに異なる表情を楽しむことができます。
外装を手掛けるのは、UNDULATIONのアーティスト、クワイ華。特殊塗料を幾重にも塗り重ね、乾燥、削り、磨きを繰り返す独自の技法によって、表面に深い奥行きと艶を生み出しています。黒の艶の中から覗く赤、白、紫は、単に色を配置したものではなく、削るという工程によって現れるもの。その不規則な色彩の重なりが、表面に独特のリズムと立体感を与えています。
内装には、ハンドメイドデザイナー・葛野慎吾が仕立てるクロコダイルを採用。特徴的なグレインと立体的な質感を活かしながら、一つひとつ丁寧に仕上げています。艶やかな黒の外装と、削りによって現れる鮮やかな色彩、そしてクロコダイルの豊かな表情。それぞれ異なる質感が重なり、5本の時計を収めたときには、タイムピースを引き立てる美しい背景となります。

A lustrous black surface forms the foundation of this five-watch case, with the entire exterior carefully scraped to reveal the layers of color beneath. Flecks of red, white, and purple emerge through the deep black, creating a striking contrast across the surface. The colors appear differently depending on where the scraping takes place, making each piece entirely individual. As light moves across the surface and the viewing angle changes, the balance of color and lustre shifts, revealing new expressions within the same palette.
The exterior is created by UNDULATION artist Kuwai Hana. Multiple layers of specialized paint are applied, then repeatedly dried, scraped, and polished to create a rich sense of depth and lustre. The red, white, and purple revealed through the black are not simply painted onto the surface, but emerge through the process of scraping itself. These irregular traces of color create a distinctive rhythm and dimensional quality across the case.
The interior is crafted by handmade designer Shingo Kuzuno using carefully selected crocodile leather. Its distinctive grain and sculptural texture are preserved through meticulous craftsmanship, with each piece carefully finished by hand. The lustrous black exterior, vivid colors revealed through the scraping process, and rich character of the crocodile leather come together to create a refined contrast, providing an elegant backdrop for the five timepieces it holds.
The colors emerge only through the act of scraping, giving each piece an expression that can never be exactly replicated. Bringing together the function of beautifully housing five timepieces with the individuality of a one-of-a-kind work of art, this five-watch case embodies the distinctive character of UNDULATION.
