In Eastern tradition, the Silver Dragon has long been regarded as a guardian spirit that governs the forces of heaven and nature, bringing harmony and purification to both body and mind. In this work, a specialized silver-based coating creates a quiet radiance that softly reflects the light, giving the piece a dignified and serene presence. The individual lines revealed by carving through layers of accumulated color are not merely decorative; they embody the passage of time itself, built up layer by layer. As the viewing angle and light shift, the colors resting beneath the surface emerge in ever-changing expressions.

The spiral motifs placed above and below the work are inspired by komainu, traditional guardian figures found at the entrances of Japanese shrines. Watching over the space, they lend the work a quiet yet powerful presence. Welcomed into a space, the work continually changes with light and time, bringing a sense of harmony and a rich, lingering presence to its surroundings.
