特殊塗料を数十層にも重ね、乾かしては削る。その工程を何度も繰り返すことで、黒の奥に複雑な表情が生まれています。削ることで現れる一つひとつの跡は、単なる装飾ではなく、制作に費やされた時間の層でもあります。光を受けると、その重なりがさまざまな陰影となって現れ、見る角度によって龍の表情も変わっていきます。

Since ancient times, the dragon has been regarded as a symbol of strength, protection, and renewal. This work depicts a dragon emerging from the depths of deep black, its form undulating within the darkness. More than a symbol of power, the dragon carries a quiet presence, as though it has stood watch over the passage of time.

Specialized paint is built up in dozens of layers, each layer repeatedly dried and carefully scraped away. Through this process, a complex depth emerges within the black surface. Each mark left by the scraping is more than a decorative detail; it becomes a layer of time, recording the hours and process invested in the making of the work. As light moves across the surface, these layers reveal subtle shifts in shadow and depth, while the expression of the dragon changes with every angle of view.

At F30, the work offers an intimate view of its layered surface and traces of the artist’s hand, while maintaining a strong presence within a space.
