本作は、UNDULATIONのDRAGONシリーズの初期作品として、2024年に制作された一点です。現在へと続くDRAGONシリーズの出発点にあたる作品であり、後の作品へとつながっていく造形や表現の原型を感じることができます。

F20号相当のサイズは、壁面にしっかりとした存在感を持たせながらも、空間を圧迫しすぎないバランスの取れたスケールです。特殊塗料を幾重にも重ねることで生まれる色彩と質感は、見る角度や光の入り方によって表情が変わり、龍の姿にもさまざまな印象を与えます。

龍という古くから親しまれてきたモチーフを通して、作家自身の記憶や感覚が形になった本作。現在のDRAGONシリーズを知るうえでも、その原点に触れることのできる作品です。初期作品ならではの表現と、後の展開につながる要素を併せ持つ一点として、コレクションの中でも特別な意味を持つ作品といえるでしょう。

This work was created in 2024 as one of the early pieces in UNDULATION’s DRAGON series. As a starting point for the series that continues today, it offers a glimpse into the origins of the forms and visual language that would later develop throughout the DRAGON works.

At approximately F20 size, the work has a strong presence on the wall while maintaining a balanced relationship with its surrounding space. The layers of special paint create depth in both color and texture, while the appearance of the dragon shifts with the angle of view and the way light falls across the surface.

Through the enduring motif of the dragon, the artist’s own memories and sensibilities take form in this work. It offers a direct connection to the origins of the DRAGON series and provides an opportunity to experience an early stage of its development. Bringing together the distinctive qualities of an early work with elements that would lead into later pieces, it holds a particular significance within the collection.
