黒く艶めく表面に、ひと筋の流れが走る。幾重にも重ねられた色彩を削ることで現れたその軌跡は、うねりながら進む龍の姿を思わせる。光を受ければ線の一つひとつが浮かび上がり、深い黒の中に陰影が生まれる。10本の時計を収めるためのケースでありながら、その佇まいはひとつのアートピースに近い。

外装を手掛けるのは、UNDULATIONのアーティスト、クワイ華。特殊塗料を幾重にも重ね、乾燥、削り、磨きを繰り返す。その過程で刻まれる線は、均一に整えられたものではなく、力の流れを残したまま表面に刻まれていきます。見る角度によって光と影の現れ方が変わり、黒の艶の中に、龍を思わせる大きな流れが浮かび上がります。

近づいて見ると、一つひとつの削り跡がつくる繊細な表情。少し距離を置けば、それらがひとつの大きなうねりとなり、ケース全体を駆け抜けているように見える。細部と全体、その両方で異なる表情を楽しめることも、この仕上げならではの魅力です。

内装には、ハンドメイドデザイナー・葛野慎吾が仕立てるクロコダイルを採用。特徴的なグレインと立体的な質感が、外装の大胆な表情に異なる質感を添えています。ケースを開けば、外装の力強いラインとクロコダイルの豊かな表情が交わり、10本のタイムピースを収める空間までひとつの作品として完成します。

時計を収めるための機能を、そのまま美しさへ。黒い艶の中に刻まれた龍の軌跡は、置かれる空間に強い印象を残しながら、光とともに表情を変えていく。UNDULATIONが描く、アートとクラフトの境界にある10本用WATCH CASEです。

A single, sweeping movement runs across the lustrous black surface. Revealed through the scraping of layered colors, its fluid trajectory recalls the form of a dragon in motion, winding its way across the case. As the light catches each mark, subtle shadows emerge within the deep black, bringing the surface to life. Designed to house ten timepieces, the case carries the presence of an art object in its own right.

The exterior is created by UNDULATION artist Kuwai Hana. Multiple layers of specialized paint are applied, then repeatedly dried, scraped, and polished. The lines formed through this process are not mechanically uniform. Each retains the trace of the movement behind it, creating a sense of energy across the surface. Depending on the angle of view, light and shadow shift, revealing a larger, sweeping form reminiscent of a dragon moving through the depth of black.

Up close, the individual marks reveal a finely textured surface, each trace contributing its own subtle character. From a distance, these marks come together as one continuous movement, flowing across the case as though carried by a single force. This interplay between detail and composition gives the piece a changing visual presence.

The interior is crafted by handmade designer Shingo Kuzuno using carefully selected crocodile leather. Its distinctive grain and sculptural texture introduce a contrasting richness to the expressive exterior. When opened, the bold lines of the exterior meet the natural character of the crocodile leather, transforming the interior into an equally considered setting for ten timepieces.

Here, function becomes part of the aesthetic. The dragon-like movement carved into the lustrous black surface leaves a distinctive impression within the space, while continuing to shift with the light. This ten-watch case occupies the space between art and craftsmanship, embodying the distinctive visual language of UNDULATION.
