深みのある黒の艶をベースに、削った部分から落ち着いた赤が覗く5本用WATCH CASE。鮮やかな赤を見せるのではなく、黒の中に重なる深い赤が、控えめながら印象を残します。光の当たり方や見る角度によって、黒の艶や赤の濃淡が少しずつ変わり、見るたびに異なる表情を楽しめる仕上がりです。
外装を手掛けるのは、UNDULATIONのアーティスト、クワイ華。特殊塗料を何層にも重ね、乾燥、削り、磨きを繰り返すことで、この独特の色と艶をつくり出しています。削ることで現れる赤は、場所によって濃淡が異なり、均一ではありません。そのわずかな違いが、黒の艶の中に自然な揺らぎを生み、どこか時間を重ねたもののような趣を感じさせます。
内装には、ハンドメイドデザイナー・葛野慎吾が仕立てるオーストリッチを採用。オーストリッチ特有の表情を活かしながら、一つひとつ丁寧に仕上げています。深い黒と赤の外装に、オーストリッチの質感が加わることで、時計を収めたときにも落ち着いた上質さが感じられます。
目を引く色彩ではなく、黒の中にわずかに現れる赤。その控えめな色の重なりに、侘び寂びにも通じる美しさがあります。5本の大切な時計を収めるケースとしての機能はもちろん、使う人の空間に置かれたときにも、さりげなく存在感を放つ。そんな一品に仕上がっています。

A deep, lustrous black forms the base of this five-watch case, with a muted red appearing through the areas revealed by scraping. Rather than a vivid red that demands attention, the deep red layered beneath the black leaves a subtle yet distinctive impression. As the light and viewing angle change, the sheen of the black and the tones of the red shift gently, revealing a different expression each time.
The exterior is created by Kuwai Hana, the artist behind UNDULATION. Special paints are layered by hand, then repeatedly dried, scraped, and polished to create the case’s distinctive depth and sheen. The red revealed through the scraping varies naturally from one area to another rather than appearing uniform. These subtle differences bring a gentle sense of movement to the glossy black surface, giving the case a character reminiscent of something shaped over time.
The interior is finished in ostrich leather by handmade designer Shingo Kuzuno. Its distinctive texture is carefully preserved and finished by hand, piece by piece. The combination of deep black and red on the exterior with the natural texture of ostrich leather gives the case a refined and understated character when a watch is placed inside.
Rather than relying on vivid color, this piece reveals just a hint of red beneath the black. There is a quiet beauty in this restrained layering of color, with a sensibility reminiscent of wabi-sabi. Designed to hold five cherished timepieces, the case is made not only to serve its purpose, but also to sit naturally within a space and make its presence felt without demanding attention.
